They saved my dogs life. He would have died from congestive heart failure. They acted right away and we saw immediate relief within 15 mins. They let me come and visit my dog in the oxygen chamber as many times as I wanted while he was there (2 days). Very involved, caring staff. I now have a second chance with my dog during his golden years. Forever grateful.

Matthew is such a compassionate and wonderful person! He has been taking care of my dog's libre sensor replacement , and is just such a wonderful and pleasant tech!! He greets my dog with such a warm welcome and always shows concern for her well being. Very informative and his manners are outstanding! He makes our trip so easy and pleasant to come to calusa!

My 2 year old BD had to be boarded by trusted folks and Calusa came highly recommended by several friends. Intake exam by vet was very smooth and everyone at the beautiful facility was great. So dropping Rip off tomorrow knowing he will be in great hands while we are gone for a few days.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Nurse Elizabeth at Calusa. She truly went above and beyond to make sure my poodle, Annie, received the care she needed during such a stressful time. From the moment we arrived, Elizabeth was incredibly attentive, compassionate, and reassuring—not just to Annie, but to me as well. You can tell how deeply she cares about both her patients and their owners. Her kindness and dedication made all the difference. We also feel so lucky to have Dr. Krane overseeing Annie’s care. Her knowledge, professionalism, and calm demeanor gave me so much confidence that Annie was in the best possible hands. A heartfelt thank you as well to the incredible ER staff—your grace under pressure and quick action truly saved Annie’s life. I will never forget it. I am beyond grateful to Nurse Elizabeth, Dr. Krane, and the entire team for their compassion, expertise, and genuine care. They treated Annie like their own, and that means everything. Highly, highly recommend. 🐾💛

The ER team at Calusa saved my 7 month MainCoon! They were kind to Benny and to me. They were always available to give updates and were very transparent on price (yes it is expensive) and procedures … I highly recommend and will definitely go back if needed. To top it off they shared all their notes with me and his regular vet immediately which was very helpful for continuity of care. THANK YOU

I’ve been here twice - once for a pair of kittens I was fostering and just recently because my idiot dog (affectionate) decided to treat himself to a nice helping of rotten iguana. The vet tech, (I believe Jennifer? I don’t have the card she gave me) is incredible. She wrote down all the information because it was like 2 in the morning or so and I wasn’t in any capacity to retain information. She was sweet and attentive and reassured me that my boy was gonna be just fine and told me how to monitor him at home. The vet, Dr. Aurora Arevalo, was so thorough and kind. I was freaking out that my dog contracted botulism or something but they helped ease my anxiety. And of course emergency vets are going to be expensive! Plus, it’s in Boca. Even though my dog is going to be fine, I didn’t want to risk it, and it was worth the peace of mind. Hopefully I won’t be back for a while though lol

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this animal hospital. I brought in Maxx, my dad’s almost 13-year-old Golden Retriever, and he was barely breathing, hanging on by a thread. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredible—kind, attentive, and genuinely compassionate. They treated Maxx with such care and urgency, and they made a very stressful situation feel a little more manageable. Less than 24 hours after being discharged, Maxx is already up and walking outside—twice! Seeing that kind of turnaround feels nothing short of a miracle, and I truly believe it’s because of the exceptional care he received. This place is truly outstanding. I am beyond grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of care for their pet. A special thank you to Dr. Paul D’Ortona and Dr. Karina Ordoñez. They are absolutely amazing. Their quick actions and expertise quite literally saved Maxx’s life. They are, without a doubt, the most compassionate and skilled veterinarians I have encountered since moving to Florida.

I had to bring my dog Journie into Calusa for an emergency visit, and Dr. Paul was absolutely incredible. It was a very scary situation — her previously benign leg cyst ruptured suddenly, there was significant bleeding and infection, and she spiked a high fever. From the moment I arrived, Dr. Paul was calm, compassionate, and extremely thorough. He took the time to explain everything clearly, flushed and treated the wound carefully, wrapped her leg securely, and made sure we left with a solid plan and the appropriate medications. What stood out most was how steady and reassuring he was during a moment that felt overwhelming for me. He treated Journie with such kindness and handled the situation with both urgency and care. As a pet parent, that meant everything. I am so grateful for the level of attention and professionalism I received. Thank you, Dr. Paul, for taking such good care of my girl.

Dr. D’Ortona is an exceptional veterinarian, and I am deeply grateful for the care he provided to my puppy, Leo. From the very beginning, he was thorough, calm, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain Leo’s condition clearly, reviewed prior treatment carefully, and approached everything with both precision and compassion. What stood out most was his integrity and attentiveness. He didn’t rush decisions, didn’t dismiss concerns, and made sure Leo’s comfort, safety, and long-term outcome were always the priority. In a situation that was emotionally stressful as a pet parent, Dr. D’Ortona brought clarity, reassurance, and trust back into the process. Leo’s recovery and progress speak volumes about the quality of care he received. I truly felt that my puppy was in expert hands. If you are looking for a veterinarian who combines medical excellence with genuine care for both animals and their humans, I highly recommend Dr. D’Ortona.

Simply the best, better than any veterinary service in Palm Beach County. Dr. Krawitz and his staff are highly dedicated to client care. Accredited full service veterinary center that is open 24/7 365 which is an excellent business model in terms of one stop for all your pet’s needs. All my West Highland Terriers have received excellent care from well visits to highly specialized surgeries. Highly recommended.
